Farid Asadi explains DEM at a CNRS group meeting

Farid Asadi, ESR 03, recently presented in the French CNRS group of “Matériaux Val de Loire et Limousin (MatV2L)” which is a group of materials science researchers of the universities of central France. The theme of this group meeting was numerical methods and simulations. Farid explained the potential and capabilities of numerical models by using Discrete Element Method (DEM) in continuum media simulations, for material scientists.

In this picture, he is explaining the basis of the DEM, by using his wooden stick and ball model!
